Tips for Getting Started

Show support for biking in San Antonio by using existing bike trails and facilities. This will tell our local officials if you build it, we will come. The city will be more likely to invest in biking and pedestrian infrastructure when they know the public will use it.

If you're interested in improving routes and facilities for bicycling around San Antonio and Bexar County, contact Scott Ericksen and ask to be added to the Bicycle Mobility Advisory Committee (BMAC) friends e-mail list so that you'll receive all the latest biking news and information.

The BMAC advises the San Antonio-Bexar County Metropolitan Planning Organization Transportation Steering Committee on bicycling issues for the metropolitan area.

The BMAC's goal is to increase bike ridership by creating a safe and effective network of on and off-road bikeways throughout the region.

Mobility 2025 set a goal of approximately $1 million/year for bicycle projects for the MPO area.

Created in 1995, the BMAC is comprised of Bike Coordinators for the state, county, city, VIA Transit, bicycle clubs and interested citizens.
